Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door to which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and the word.”
The anointing with sacred chrism signifies the Gift of Holy Spirit to the newly baptized, who has become a Christian, that is, one “anointed” by the Holy Spirit, incorporated into Christ who is anointed priest, prophet, and king. For Adult Baptism (7 years of age and older) please see the section on RCIA. Baptism Classes are scheduled regularly throughout the year in both English and Spanish. To register, contact the parish office. You will need to bring the child's birth certificate with you. Parents should also have in their minds who they want as their child’s godparents. One need not be married, but if so, must be married by the Catholic Church. If single, must be living a single life. 4. Must be an active Catholic. 5. Must be someone who would be a role model for the child.
